Re: Visa run Canada on B1/B2 visa - 11 years ago
Apply for the extension. It will probably cost you $300 to go to Canada and you won't be assured that you will be allowed back in.by Marea - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: St. Patricks Day - 11 years ago
You need to watch it from the street, you would totally lose the atmosphere watching from a hotel room. The first time I watched it was on the street and the interaction with other observers was part of the experience.by Marea - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: E3 Visa - 12 years ago
I just noticed this topic again. I wasn't clear enough, our company is contracted to an American Company. There have been some instances of companies being established just to sponsor people and they charge a monthly rate for the time that the person is in the states. The US government is aware of this and has cracked down on this practice. Bala, the E3 visa is only for Australians toby Marea - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: best bars/pubs - 12 years ago
Most places have a halloween atmosphere during that period. The whole city really gets in to it. If you go to the parade make sure you are there early as it get so crowded they close the streets off all around it very early and they stay closed for quite a while after, which means the bars in that area are not accessible.by Marea - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Eately - 12 years ago
Went to Eataly last month, wasn't impressed. The floor plan was horrendous, it was crowded, expensive and confusing. After a number of fruitless attempts at getting some service, we left and ate elsewhere. I was in the one in Turin about 10 days before and it wso much better. I found it easier to order, the service was pleasant, the layout better and you didn't have to wait 45 miby Marea - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Just one day - 13 years ago
Definitely don't drive, you will spend most of your day sitting in traffic and it will cost a fortune in parking fees. Take the subway, it is efficient and cheap. I would skip Coney Island if I were you, it will take up too much of your time. Another alternative would be the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. You can see most of the major sites and there are stops near Central Park and also dby Marea - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Cosmetics and Clothes - 13 years ago
Duane Reade are good for makeup and you will probably find brands that you are familiar with. Makeup and cosmetics are much cheaper in New York than in Australia, so I think they will be cheaper than NZ as well. I would go to Macys or Bloomingdales for a dress as they have a lot of different designers and also have good sales. They would also be good for boots or you could try DSW at Union Squaby Marea - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Visit in March West 39th st - 13 years ago
I stayed there last June at the Candlewood Suites. Totally okay, quite convenient to the subway, there are a number of new hotels along that section of 39th St and on 9th Ave, north of 39th there are quite a few nice little restaurants. There is also a nice one on 39th itself, as well as a very nice little bakery/sandwich shop. Admittedly the Port authority area isn't great but I didnby Marea - Ask a New Yorker :

I fly frequently and get patted down every time because I have had a hip replacement which sets off the alarms. The new procedures can't be any worse than what I go through every time I leave Japan, they are VERY thorough, and no one seems to object.by Marea - Ask a New Yorker :
