There are a couple of places near you on 5th Ave that are okay, I think both are around 29th St. One is called something like le bon gout, can't remember exactly but it's open 24 hours.

If you want a fun breakfast, where the food isn't brilliant, but your family will really enjoy the atmosphere, try Ellies Diner in Times Square. You'll remember the experience
