What are the names of some cheap supermarkets in Chelsea (near W 23rd street, to be more exact)? I'm staying for a few days and want to save money by buying groceries rather than eating out every meal. Thanks!

Just spoke to Jerry over at The Chelsea Hotel, he's been there for 35 years....he laughed ar the idea of a reasonably price grocery...'rents too high' although Asscociated Market on 14th street of off 8th would be you best bet. If you have not been in Chelsea Market it is worth checking out. Great set up with awesome stores.

There's a couple of Gristedes. I think there's one on 7thAve around 19th St and there is definitely one on 8th Ave on the corner of 28th St.

Another option which is to order from Peapod or Fresh Direct online and have your grocerys delivered...first tine users get a good discount

In fact, reasonably priced in Manhattan is almost a joke!
It was better if I ask not to much expensive, isn’t it ?
