I am thinking of going to New York for the St. Patricks Day Parade. Which hotels are the best to watch the parade right from your room.

From your room? Starts at 72nd and Columbus Ave then moves along the Park and down 5th Ave....so how about The Plaza Hotel should run you around $400 a nite...personally I think being in the mix and hearing the parade might be another option.

You need to watch it from the street, you would totally lose the atmosphere watching from a hotel room. The first time I watched it was on the street and the interaction with other observers was part of the experience.
