Real Estate - 9 years ago
Just watching a programme in the UK at the moment about New York real estate. The programme might go by a different name in the states, however it involves realtors called ryan , fredrik and luis. Very humorous, but it does give a good insite to property values in Manhattan. Its hard to believe a decent apartment around central park can cost 10 million dollars. Would love to go back tby tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :

WHITE MAN WALKING - 17 years ago
Well, Im back, after spending 3 weeks in North America and 6 days in NYC, the big apple. But first let me explain the posts subject heading. Everytime I tried to cross a road or street in the city my wife would grab my arm and say "Wait till the white mans walking". This is in relation to the automatic lights crossing. It creased me up everytime she said it. 6 days in New York, does tby tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :

I would love to reply to richards post but what with the wifes passport and my daughter just arriving back from Washington, I cannot. Suffice to say that a large part of the English working class in the north of the country is of Irish stock. Me as an example, McLaughlin hardly an English name, very Donegall. Agreat deal of the British army who served in Ulster were of Irish stock. Proud to beby tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Racism in New York > Please read - 17 years ago
Its very sad that this type of thing happens, but it does. Let me give you an example, In white and English, my wife and daughter are Irish,I asked my daughter when she was 12 are you English or Irish, she thoughtfor a while and said Irish. We lived for a time in West Yorkshire and my daughter was often referred to as an Irish Cu.., at school. Eventually I had a nervous breakdown, lost my job,by tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :
US SPECIAL FORCES - 17 years ago
Does anyone know if their are jewellers around the 42 st area who sell those Jack Bauer (24) special op watches. Or even the luminox or Smith n Wesson watches These are tough looking timepeices that are illuminated at the press of a button. I could import one from the states, but with taxes etc and me going soon it just might be easier to visit a shop in Manhattan and look at them before buyinby tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :

I dont really want to eat the food I normally eat back in the UK. So what does a N Yorker eat when he gets home from work each day. Do people have the equivelent of a "Sunday Dinner". what would a NYorker pay for an average meal out . Thanksby tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :

Safe walk - 17 years ago
Is it a safe walk from 33St/8th Ave to Pier 83 on 42 St. This is to catch one of those trips around the city. It looks about a 25 minute walk, but it goes right through what was Hells Kitchen. I dont want to bump into the Jets or the Sharks.by tpm45 - Ask a New Yorker :
