Re: JFK to CITY - 12 years ago
The key phrase in what you wrote is for me. You might think differently if you has mobility issues or if you had two toddlers tagging along or had 3 large suitcases. The best for one individual is not necessarily the best for another individual. Circumstances are different.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Cab from NY to Pen Argyl - 12 years ago
No taxi cab is going to take you out there. You either rent a car and drive it or you take the bus. Pen Argyl is midway between Easton, PA and Stroudsburg, PA. Greyhound, TransBridge, and Martz serve the area.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Football game in NYC - 12 years ago
Both professional football teams play in NJ at the MetLife Stadium in the area of Secaucus, New Jersey known as the Meadowlands. There are college football teams such as Columbia Lions.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: JFK into Manhattan doubletree - 12 years ago
Fort Lee is in the state of New Jersey which is not Manhattan. You can forget about the taxi to Fort Lee because most NYC taxi cabs won't go to Fort Lee.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: JFK into Manhattan doubletree - 12 years ago
The cheapest way is by subway. As I have posted time and time again. cheapest IS NOT best pick one one or the otherby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Metrocards do NOT work on NJ Transit buses which is what you need to get to the Embassy Suites in Secaucus. The subway doesn't go out to NJ.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

I think you are confused about which card you had.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Garden State Mall - 12 years ago
All the malls have websites. Take a look at them to see which stores appeals to. I am not big on outlet shopping but some foreign visitors think of them as the 2nd comming or something. Newport Mall in Jersey City and Garden State Mall are just regular malls - not outlet malls.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: FYI - MetroCard - 12 years ago
Each passenger DO NOT have to have a card. Four people can ride with one card with the four transfer privilege on the card. That is only if you have the Pay-Per-Ride Metrocard. Some visitors try to save money with the Unlimited Ride Metrocard thinking everyone can use the same card. Not so.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: train from NJ to Greenwich Village? - 12 years ago
Parking is always problematic weekdays with all the commuters and their cars. How long it takes depends on which station you depart from in NJ and time of day and day of week you will be traveling. Alot of information on PATH website.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Cab Fare to and from Secaucus NJ to Con Edison HQ/Manhattan - 12 years ago
There is NO set cab fare from NYC to Secaucus or from Secaucus to NYC. You'd have to arrange for the cab ride from Secaucus yourself. On the return, you'll need to find a driver willing to take you to Secaucus and then agree on the fare beforehand; it won't be on meter. Depending on which hotel in Secuacus you are referring to, you may be able to take a NJ Transit bus into Maby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Amtrak's Acela Express makes the trip from NYC to DC in 3 hours not 2.5 hours. And the fare is $200 one-way. If you go by bus, plan on 3.5 hours if there are no problems on the highways. In short, Washington, DC requires at least 7 hours roundtrip spent on the road traveling.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: GREYHOUND BOSTON - NEW YORK - 14 years ago

Re: Best travelling option from JFK airport to Boston - 14 years ago
Why aren't you flying directly to Boston? No, it isn't *that* far from JFK to the Greyhound bus terminal which is commonly called the Port Authority Bus Terminal. You should be able to make the trip in about 45 minutes. Bus to Boston is about 4 to 4.5 hours.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: JFK airport to Catskill? - 14 years ago
Besides the Trailways bus, you can also take Amtrak from Penn Station up to Albany.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: JFK airport to Catskill? - 14 years ago
Saying the "Catskills" doesn't say much as it covers a fairly large area. If your goal is to get to Port Authority Bus Terminal from JFK, I'd take the NY Airport Service bus which will drop you off just outside PABT. These buses have the large cargo hold for large pieces of luggage. In personal opinion it is the way to go.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
