Re: FortLee New Jersey - 15 years ago
Define "simple". There are only three ways to cross the Hudson from NJ. From Ft. Lee, the closest access is via the George Washington Bridge. Where and when were you planning on "leaving your car"? I wouldn't count on finding any free parking on weekdays unless you are staying at a hotel.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Rental Apartments Close to Hilton 1335 Ave. of the Americas - 15 years ago
Get a hotel. You are just the type of person ripe to be ripped off in the wild and dirty world of so-called short-term apartment rental in NYC. Take this as a warning. Disregard it at your peril.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Bus back from the Meadowlands - 15 years ago
I believe that info is on the #351 schedule which you should have downloaded from the NJ Transit website.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: night travel - 15 years ago
Depending on which hotel, there's usually a last bus at 12:30am. Check the schedule for the bus that you will be using for your hotel.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Bus back from the Meadowlands - 15 years ago

Re: upper yorkville cancellation policies - 15 years ago
You blame yourself, but you feel you were totally ripped off???? I don't get the logic. You either take FULL responsibility or you don't. Sounds like you aren't willing to take full responsbility and want to palm off the blame to Upper Yorkville. They are not a big conglomerate like Marriott or Hilton. They can't absorb the losses. They do what they have to do bby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: food and getting discount theater tickets - 15 years ago
Jersey Boys does not have a lottery. I did Standing Room for Jersey Boys and got to sit for the 2nd half since there were 2 empty seats at the back of orchestra.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: food and getting discount theater tickets - 15 years ago
At this late date, Jersey Boys is sold out. You might luck out getting 2 tickets at the theater on the day of the show. Get there and wait in line before the box office opens.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: workpermission - 15 years ago
There are employers who will hire you illegally without a visa. How else do the illegal immigrants get a job? Whether it is the type of job you would want and how you go about finding these employers I have no clue.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: workpermission - 15 years ago
There is no way to get around needing a visa to work here unless you do what some people have done and that is sneak across the Mexican-USA border or pay a smuggler $$$ to sneak you in via some sort of cargo. But if you are flying here, forget about it!by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Greyhound station - JFK int'l airport to Ocean City MD - 15 years ago
Nothing to get nervous about. You'll be traveling during the daytime. However, any young woman alone should always be cautious.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Greyhound station - JFK int'l airport to Ocean City MD - 15 years ago
If you should make this trip again next summer, try to fly to an airport closer to Ocean City. Baltimore and Philadelphia airports though not as big as JFK would mean less time on the bus. These cities have airlines that fly to Europe. If you manage to get on the 8am Greyhound bus, it is about a 6-hour bus trip. The one in the afternoon takes even longer. Add on top of that the time to makby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Transport Newark Airport - Greyhound Bus Station (Port Authority) - 15 years ago
There is no Greyhound at NYC Penn Station. The Greyhound buses stop at Port Authority Bus Terminal which is located at 42nd St and 8th Avenue. NYC Penn Station is at 33rd St and 8th Avenue. Newark Airport has both train service to NYC Penn Station (www.njtransit.com) and bus service to Port Authority (www.coachusa.com).by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Prepaid phone? - 15 years ago
I am partial to T-mobile's pre-paid phones myself. I have one as a back-up to my Verizon service. They also sell SIM cards for your unlocked phones. However, you need to make sure that your phone operates in the frequency band that they use.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Any comment on R and J Lodging? - 15 years ago
A university's housing office doesn't just deal with university dorms. Most generally can assist with off-campus housing as well. Not to make use of all the services they offer is foolish, especially since you are not even in the country and NYC housing is one of the most difficult in the world to tackle. You can always go with corporate housing at $4000 a month.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Any comment on R and J Lodging? - 15 years ago
Why are you not making use of your college or university's international student office or its housing office? They should always be your top resource.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: HELP!!! lol - 15 years ago
The easiest is to get back to airport and take a taxi or Olympia Trails bus or NJ Transit train into Manhattan. Cheapest is to get back to airport and take NJ Transit #62 bus to Newark Penn Station then take PATH to Manhattan.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Read the reviews for Embassy Suites, Affinia or Shelburne Murray Hill over at Tripadvisor.com Affinia has several properties. The Embassy Suites is all the way down at the southern tip of Manhattan. That is my least favorite in terms of location.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
