Re: Wicked Tickets - 18 years ago
Wicked does not have SRO (standing room only tickets); it only has the lottery. Literally, hundreds of people will try out for it. Only 26 or 28 seats total available. There is also the cancellation line. You wait in line and hope that a few tickets become available. Be prepared to wait all day. You don't know when or IF the tickets will be available.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: LGA to Paramus, NJ? - 18 years ago
depends on where exactly in Paramus, NJ you need to go and yes, the bus is probably going to end up being your only option if you need public transportation if there is public tranportation near where you need to go there is also NJ Transit rail service to northern NJ but there isn't a Paramus stop per-se other than that, there's always taxi or car serviceby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Free parking in New York - 18 years ago
{{ never had either happen & I've parked my car in some not so great areas}} I'm just presenting the worst case possibilities. Just because it never happened to you doesn't mean, it NEVER happens. As with any type of crime, all it takes is for it to happen to you to ruin everything.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: musical - 18 years ago
your brother got tickets to The Odd Couple at TKTS? are you sure about that? the play has been sold out for months maybe he did SRO or stood in the cancellation line?by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Free parking in New York - 18 years ago
I almost always take the train or bus into Manhattan. If I drive, I always park at a garage. It isn't worth the $200+ fees of being towed away to park on the street or worse have your car be stolen or vandalized.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Christmas in New York-Restaurants - 18 years ago
well for a restaurant with a view of Times Square I'd go to Foley's Fish House in the Renaissance NY Hotel www.foleysfishhouse.comby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Hershey - 18 years ago

Re: Doorman Christmas gifts - 18 years ago
Got to strongly agree with bxgrl74!!! If I give the gift to all, then I would make everyone know that the money changed hands and who has it. For example, I tip the movers after a move. I make sure to do it at the end when they're about to leave and that all the guys see that I gave the tip to the foreman of the group.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Hotel Pennsylvania - 18 years ago
obviously you've had a good experience with the Hotel Pennsylvania the two times you've stayed there, but the reviews at tripadvisor.com are not all that greatby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Budget hotels for next week! - 18 years ago
if you are not able to find what you want, consider a hotel in NJ I've created a webpage about the options available not as convenient as staying right in Manhattan but the hotels are nicer than some of the lower tier hotels in NYC the #320 NJ Transit bus to Secaucus runs every 10/15/30 minutes depending on time of dayby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
