The concern is more about getting towed for illegal parking than having the car stripped for parts. Parking in NYC is expensive. www.iconparking.comby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: To JFK from Greyhound Bus stop - 15 years ago
You need to be at the airport 3 hours before departure for an international flight, so you need to be there by 3:30pm. I personally prefer to travel by train but it generally more expensive than the bus. Since you'll have luggage, the airport shuttle bus is better in my opinion. Taxis to and from JFK is $45 + tolls + tip = $60.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

There are numerous entrances into PABT. The building itself covers basically the rectangle between 9th and 8th Avenues and 40th and 42nd Streets. Next time just tell your driver to drop you off at corner of 8th Avenue and 42nd Street.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Transportation from Midtown to Newark Symphony Hall - 15 years ago
Sorry about that Nancy. Your only good option will be a taxi from Newark Penn Station. The Newark Symphony Hall website mentions NJ Transit buses but is not specific about which ones.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Transportation from Midtown to Newark Symphony Hall - 15 years ago
I think you mean the NJ Performing Arts Center in Newark. Take NJ Transit train from NYC Penn Station to Newark Penn Station. Then you can take the Newark Light Rail one stop north or take a taxi or walk the rest of the way.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: public transportation to Philly Airport - 15 years ago
Forgot about using taxis. That would be the most direct way to get from George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal to 3 Pike Street Chinatown. About $29 according to taxi fare estimator versus $2 for the subway.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: public transportation to Philly Airport - 15 years ago
I don't think you realize what is involved for her/him if she decides to take the Chinatown buses. To take the Chinatown bus, she/he would have to take either the bus or the NJ Transit. The same NJ Transit train I mentioned in my post. The bus service is offered by Rockland Coaches which goes from Spring Valley, NY to the GW Bridge Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once at the bus terminal,by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: public transportation to Philly Airport - 15 years ago
With your suggestion of Chinatown bus, you are missing the fact that "Zar" says that he/she lives in Spring Valley, NY. You do know that Spring Valley, NY is in Rockland County NY state near the NY State Thruway?by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: public transportation to Philly Airport - 15 years ago
NJ Transit from Spring Valley, NY to Secaucus, NJ. NJ Transit from Secaucus, NJ to Newark, NJ. Amtrak from Newark Penn Station to Philadelphia 30th Street Station. SEPTA R1 from Philadelphia 30th Street Station to PHL. If you don't take Amtrak, then take NJ Transit directly from Secaucus, NJ to Trenton, NJ. Then SEPTA R7 from Trenton, NJ to Philadelphia 30th Street Station. You migby ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

I never understood questions like these. If you don't want to be trudging my bags through Time Square, then either take a taxi or reserve a car/limo. There is no other magical mode of transportation to that won't "burden" you with difficulties.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :

If you have the $$$ to sustain yourself, by all means come. The rule of thumb now is that when someone is laid off to have 8 months of living expenses saved up. If you can survive no job for 8 months before you find one, then go for it. I don't know of anyone who is hiring other in healthcare.by ieee488 - Ask a New Yorker :
