Re: Christmas Time in New York City - 17 years ago
I was in NY from 28th Dec till 2nd Jan and am not a big shopper so I tend to give them a wide berth especially at holiday times as I hate the crowds. I'm also not much of a foodie, and like anywhere with good company! We went up the Top of the Rock for the first time on New Years Day and it was wonderful, absolutely breathtaking. One of my best memories of that visit was out walk across Brooby Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: New Year's Day - 17 years ago
Last New Years Day there were lots of things open. The only stores I can remember being closed were Tiffanys and a couple of other high end shops at the top of 5th Ave. It was a slower start to the day, but we went to the Top of the Rock and it was lovely. Skating in Central Park was busy.by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :

The tree will be lit on the 29th November. There was a link given on another forum to an article about the tree itself. Very interesting. You have to look through for the item written on 9th November. www.theridgefieldpress.comby Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :
