Re: Fare hike again??????? - 17 years ago
It's the same with ours in the NE Marea. It's not one fare per ride, and they are horrendous costs too.by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Fare hike again??????? - 17 years ago
I've always found the fare prices reasonable as well..maybe not so much for a short journey, but there's no way you could travel as far on our transport system for that cost, and for 24 hours a day. Also, the unlimited Metrocards have to be the best deal ever!by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :

There are free tours of Grand Central Terminal which are terrific.(http://tinyurl.com/d7kst) A walk in Central Park and across Brooklyn Bridge are both "only in New York " moments.by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Hotel or renting? - 17 years ago
It can work out cheaper, depending on how many of you there are.It worked out a lot cheaper than booking 2 rooms in a hotel and you get a proper living area with a sofa instead of having to lie on the bed to relax. There are what some would call downsides...often there is no lift so cases have to be carried upstairs, there's often no housekeeping or doorman and concierge. None of these poinby Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :

I'd love to be able to see this programme. I read about it a while ago but haven't been able to find it on any of our digital channels. If I win, cocktails are on meby Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: jfk to Rockefeller Center - 17 years ago
I always take a taxi from the airport--it's a flat fee of $45 ( plus toll and tip it takes it to around $60) and no hassle. To save a few dollars, ask the driver to take the Queensborough Bridge for a fantastic view of the city and no toll. The roads might be busy at that time of day, but it's part of being in NYC all that horn honking!by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :

Kelz....after a few hotel stays in midtown,I just wanted to stay in a neighbourhood. There were 3 of us travelling the first time we rented and I didn't really want to get 2 hotel rooms and my sister be on her own . We chose the UWS (www.jacksbandb.com) after a long search and have been thrilled with it. You don't have to stay for a week to rent, some places require 3 day minimums. Re: Advice about Manhatten - 17 years ago
Cath... Have you looked at any of the rental websites? I personally like to stay on the Upper West Side which is ideal for me in my 40's but was also great for a couple of 20 somethings who were with us last. I don't like to stay in midtown as it's too noisy, and personally think it would be nice for you and your daughter to get out into a neighbourhood. Have a look at a couple ofby Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Ticket office at Yankees stadium - 17 years ago
As far as I'm aware the Will Call window is open whenever there's a game. I have always just collected my tickets immediately prior to the game I was attending and there hasn't been a problem with a queue. My daughter was there just last week, and got hers very quickly too.by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Ticket office at Yankees stadium - 17 years ago
Do you mean to buy tickets? You can buy them on the internet from their site(www.yankees.com) and then collect them from the Will Call window just before the game.I do this quite often and it works great.by Daisiegee - Ask a New Yorker :
