I recently finished A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and thoroughlly enjoyed it. Last year I read Lucia, Lucia which is mainly set in Greenwich Village in the 5o's. That was a good read.by Karen - Ask a New Yorker :

...and here I am! I stayed at Jacks for a week last summer, and it was so much better than a hotel. I've booked to go back again this New Year.Country Inn's website looks very good, and they are both really close to each other, so it's a case of coin tossing. The area is great. Hi Salsa...it's www.jacksbandb.com. Not the largest of rooms, but very comfortable and the location is absolutely brilliant. There's a subway right at the end of the street. When my lottery numbers come up, I'm aiming for a nice little holiday place around hereby Karen - Ask a New Yorker :

Arties deli (Broadway at 83rd) is a good value place. Have a look at the site...www.arties.com.The menu is on there , be warned, the portions are large, my sister and I couldn't even finish a SHARED Jewish Chef Salad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Service was excellent.by Karen - Ask a New Yorker :
