We are researching alternatives to a hotel stay in New York.
What recommendations can any of you "New Yawkas" make regarding apartment rentals and/or B and B's like Jacks B and B and Country Inn the City, both on the Upper West Side.
What is a reasonable rate to pay for a one bedroom (UWS)in May or June?
Thanks!
Helen

...and here I am! I stayed at Jacks for a week last summer, and it was so much better than a hotel. I've booked to go back again this New Year.Country Inn's website looks very good, and they are both really close to each other, so it's a case of coin tossing. The area is great.
As for the price, we paid a heck of a lot less than we would have had to in a hotel...there were 3 of us and we would have had to have 2 rooms or a suite in a hotel. The advantage of the kitchen was a bonus as well.
