As for hotels, call a few and ask about policy. Perhaps if your parent were to make the reservation and secure it with their credit card it wouldn't be a problem. As for hostels, I found this list: The Seafarers and International House 123 East 15th Street (between Irving Place and 3rd Avenue) 1-212-677-4800 ... Room: $$ Hosteling Int'l NY 891 Amsterdam Av at West 103rd Streby Lee - Ask a New Yorker :

routes to/from LGA - 15 years ago

The driver took me thru Spanish Harlem. At one light several young men approach cab, cat calling, grabbing themselves...Neeby Lee - Ask a New Yorker :

Hi, another question about travel. Have purchased tickets for Rhinecliff station via net. Train leaves Penn at 8:15 am., on a Mon. Am staying Lexington/61st st. Would cab or subway be faster? What time do you suggest leave to get to station? Am not familiar with Penn station, have read somewhere to enter at 8th/31st st.? Also am leaving next morning for Grand Central to catch 8:24 trainby Lee - Ask a New Yorker :
? for Mark from Bard - 16 years ago
Hi Mark, The material I received from Bard said taxis are available at train station. Has this been your experience, or should I call ahead to have one meet us? Also, how long is the trip from Rhinecliff to Bard? 30 min. is what I've been told. We have an hour from the arrival time until his tour/interview, so should be ok? Thanks so much, Leeby Lee - Ask a New Yorker :
