Where is a safe place to live in Manhattan? I am moving to New York City from Miami and I am starting to look for apartments but I first wanted to know what areas are safer in Manhattan than others. Thank you for any help you can lend.

This is a good thread to read. Regarding Manhattan Gypsy all neighborhoods are really about the same safety wise unless your heading way up town....
