Posted by Cinzia Neri
Hello!

My husband and I are planning to come to NY next november/december.
We would like to go to the "Tree Lighting" at the Rockefeller Center.
Do you know when is (30th nov or 6th dec?)?
And how can I do to have the pass for this event?
Is it gratuit or payment?

thanks you for all the notices you can give me

bye

It's free. No passes required. Although it does get very crowded.

The Rockefeller Center tree will be lit this year on Tuesday, November 29th, 2005 at 9:00pm .

The tree will be lit through Jan 6, 2006. Hours are daily from 5:30am to 11:30pm.

Millions of New Yorkers and tourists come to see the tree while many get to ice skate on the rink below.

According to the Rockefeller Centers official site, and a discussion on a different forum, the tree will be lit on the 30th November.

make sure you get there several hours before the tree is actually lit because it is VERY crowded. and depending on the weather, BUNDLE UP!!!!!! i have never been colder than i was that night, EVER!!!! you will be standing and waiting so just be prepared. definitely something everyone should see once. have fun!
