Thank you Lisa van Mullem! It is amazing how many there are. I met a women today whoes son has made a small fortune in the burying of pets, actually the crematorial bussiness. He recently was in India where he purchased beautiful wooden boxes for the ashes. I wonder if this exist in the city. What a racket. Just curious Lisa have you had pets, and if so what did you do with there remains?

Your welcome JJ. Yes I do have pets. The pets that I had as a child were buried in our back garden. The pets that have died in my adult years have all been buried in my mother-in-laws garden along with all the other pets in the family. When my chi's pass away, I think I will bury them with the rest of the family pets in my mother-in-laws back garden. (Our back garden is bricked over....)
I had a gerbil once and when he died I put him in a container under some rocks and checked on him every day in case he was hibernating instead of dead. Needless to say, he was really dead and started to decompose but I still went with fresh food and clean water till my mother caught on and we buried him along with the other animals.
What have you done with your pets JJ?

We lost my dear old cat, Brandy, just before I moved to New York she was nearly 17. We buried her in the back garden next to where we buried her brother Alexander a few years before and marked the spot with a stone cat that is about 16 inches high so we'll always remember where they are. We wouldn't want to accidently dig them up when we go to bury the next pet to go would we.

we have a mini Central Park in Denver called Washington Park. I don't know if any pets are buried there, but I know some aquatic pets have ended up in one of the lakes.
A few summers ago a caymen (alligator) was spotted, and the fun we all had looking to spot it again. Our kids got us to go at night with flashlights several times. Very cool, as we were not the only ones out there, and it felt like the neighborhood was having it's own bit of excitement. We never saw it, but sure enjoyed the nice walk to the park, and the kids liked the later bedtime.
