Colman's Mustard and other UK treats - 17 years ago
Hello there, I am staying in NY til May and would love to access a few of my UK favourite condiments etc. Is there a store in the Upper West Side that I could get these things - like Colman's English Mustard, Tetley's Tea bags, digestive biscuits? Please help! I know I should embrace all things American while here but I just can't cope without a few things from back home. Luby Scottishlass - Ask a New Yorker :

I was told by a couple of assistants in Sephora that I should try Dramatics NYC. Would that be a good call? There is one on Columbus Ave. Luv Lisa xxxby Scottishlass - Ask a New Yorker :
Good Hair Salons Upper West Side - 17 years ago
Hi there! Can anyone suggest a really good hair salon in the area around W 78th Street ( Broadway and Amsterdam)? I want my hair coloured and styled. Have wandered around for ages looking for a salon, but can't find any! (Well I saw 2, but they looked really dodgy!). Also, I don't want one that I need to wait 6 weeks for an appointment as I am only here for 3 weeks. Look forward toby Scottishlass - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Cookware shop - 17 years ago
Thanks for your help! Yes, it is funny all the different words we use! We only use the word spatula for the plastic thing with a wooden handle for getting mixture out of bowls etc. I hardly ever use a fish slice for fish! Mostly for eggs! Many thanks to you all Luv Lisaby Scottishlass - Ask a New Yorker :

Hi, I am living around 77/78th Street and Broadway for a couple of weeks and want to know where I can buy inexpensive cookware. I need a fish slice (thing for getting eggs out of a frying pan), a colander, a wooden spoon and an extra pan. Any places nearby that I could go to? Many thanks Lisaby Scottishlass - Ask a New Yorker :

Thanks for your reply and help. I haven't been shopping on the internet, but just checking which stores might be good to visit. I just want something classy and a bit sexy. Why is it so difficult to get nice things for juicy ladies? I am only 35 and not quite ready to head into kaftanesque tent dresses and ornamental shawls (as someone I knew suggested !!!). However, you guys in the Stateby Scottishlass - Ask a New Yorker :

Hi there! I am visiting from Scotland and am looking for long ball gowns in a US size 14-16. Are there any stores that specialize in evening wear for chubsters like me? Have looked online at most of the main stores like Macy's, Saks, Bloomingdales etc but the plus suze ranges are awful and so so frumpy.
