Ask a New Yorker: What’s going on?

Tina: We’re here at Bryant Park to see “Bonnie and Clyde” on the big screen in the middle of the rain and we’re kind of drunk on box wine. Do you know where there’s a liquor store?

Ask a New Yorker: I’ll find you a liquor store.

Tina: What do you want to interview me about?

Ask a New Yorker: How many times have you seen “Bonnie and Clyde”?

Tina: I’d say 6 times that I’ve seen” Bonnie and Clyde”, the original. There’s a remake with that one chick, whatever.

Ask a New Yorker. The chick being, I think, Annette Bening?

Tina: Warren Beatty, but Annette Bening did the other one. Yes, yes how funny and Annette Bening and Warren Beatty are married. This is getting really strange.

Ask a New Yorker: I believe they met on Bugsy.

Tina: I’m a big movie person.

Ask a New Yorker: Name your top three favorite movies?

Tina: Right in this moment in my life? “Bonnie and Clyde”, because we are here. I just watched “The Life of David Gale” again. I love that movie. I just watched “Shawshank Redemption” again. If you don’t like that movie you’re a f-ing idiot. “Big Fish”, Tim Burton. A lot people don’t know about it. There are so many genres. I could be a huge John Hughs fan and watch his movies and then I could watch some French film. I just watched a Korean horror film.

Ask a New Yorker: How was your summer?

Tina: Shitty, actually. I lost my job, which is probably a good thing. I’m waiting for the big- life thing, the “oh, this happens for a reason” thing. I don’t know. I’m feeling extremely cynical about it. I’m trying to be like, “Oh yeah, this is like, a big grand gesture in my life”.

Ask a New Yorker: Hopefully the economy is on an upswing. What would your dream job be, or what is your passion in life?

Tina: Well, my passion is what I’m going to school for, which is counseling. But I like art design as well. I really like architecture, old buildings. Historical architecture has so much soul to it. New architecture is amazing, but actually, you know what my dream job would be? I’m going to tell you. If I could go around all over the world and check out haunted places, that’s what I would do. Another dream job would be to do make-up for horror movies, blood and guts everywhere. I love it.

Ask a New Yorker: What scares you?

Tina: Insanity scares me. People that are insane scare me.

Ask a New Yorker: I like your tattoos.

Tina: Well thank you, they mean a lot. I got this one for my grandmother because she always told me I would have a ruby in my wings. I got this one, “If dreams are like movies then memories are films about ghosts”, which are lyrics from a Counting Crows song. It has to do with a time in my life with my cousin, who is like my sister. I think they should mean something. I enjoy them. They are like art on your body. I say roll with it, man.

Ask a New Yorker: How is the interview going?

Tina: It’s bizarre that this is happening to me while I’m drinking box wine and I’m having a shitty day. This always happens to me in my life. Things happen to me all the time but even though it may not be run of the mill, it is interesting, right Lucia?

Ask a New Yorker: I bet you have a lot of friends.

Tina: Yea (laughter) and about 97% are gay men and lesbians. I find them to be extremely, I don’t know…it just happened that way.

Ask a New Yorker: What do you think of Lady Gaga?

Tina: I respect her for what she’s doing. She’s got some talent. I like her clothes a lot. Do I think the lyrical content of her music is anything? No, I think it’s shit. Sorry, I think it’s stupid, but I think it’s fun and fresh. She’s doing her own thing.

Ask a New Yorker: Great bag.

Tina: My friend Jeremy got this for me. He’s a fashionista. He is also a bargain shopper. He got this on sale at Century 21. It’s a Lamb, Gwen Stefani’s brand. He got it for me because it’s big and I like big bags. I can fit everything in it. It’s a fun little ditty and it’s sturdy. You got to have sturdy in New York.

Ask a New Yorker: Where does Tina live in the city?

Tina: I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Ask a New Yorker: Where do you like to hang out?

Tina: We go to Suge land , Metropolitan, The Abby, Cove. We do the East Village a lot. We like to do Don Hills, 511 Greenwich St. at Spring St.

Ask a New Yorker: Nice meeting you and good luck with the job search.

Tina: Yea, I hope it goes well, I’m in a transitional period of my life.
