When it comes to TV news there are few veteran’s as qualified as Britain’s ITV News Editor Deborah Turness, and this might be why NBC news are rumored to be making her their next news president.

Deborah Turness has an impressive news background and impeccable reputation. She has been Editor of ITV News since 2004 and was the first female editor of network news in Great Britain. Turness has also presided over a series of scoops and world exclusives including the arrest of the London bomber and the leaked investigation report on the shooting of innocent Brazilian Charles De Menezes. Considered a seasoned veteran Deborah joined ITN in 1988 as a producer and spent her early career working in ITN’s Paris and Washington bureaus.

If appointed at NBC Turness would be the first woman to head up a network news division in the US.

So far both Turness, and NBC have not confirmed the hiring but industry insiders expect Turness to arrive in New York to take the helm very soon!
