Hi everyone:

We will be on vacation in NYC this next week and would love to go on a day-long walk
from Harlem down to Battery Park (or the reverse).

Do you recommend any suggested routes? Are there a few streets we could take the whole way?

Appreciate any tips!!

Thanks for your time.

You can walk up Broadway from Bowling Green all the way up to Inwood at the Northern tip of Manhattan.

"A Walk Up Broadway," with architectural historian Barry Lewis and David Hartman, is unfortunately only available on VHS. But if you've got a way to view it, I highly recommend this informative and entertaining video tour.

I highly reccomend Betty aka Oracle from On Time New York. She's a native New Yorker and a long time contributor to Ask a New Yorker. She would be a wonderful insightful guide for such an excursion.
