needing a hoveraround

Hello New Yorkers,
My friend and her mother are planning a trip to the city in December. Her mother can't walk very well and uses a hoveraround (motorized type of wheelchair with handle bars) She was wanting me to ask you if she should bring hers (they're flying in), or if she could rent one in the city?
thank you,
Julie

Good Morning, Julie.

I just want to say that I hope your friend and her mom enjoy their time in NYC--there is a ton to do here in the city. Honestly, I would suggest bringing her own wheelchair as there is no wheelchair exactly like your own. And she may end up being the most comfortable in her own wheelchair. However, if she does decide to rent a chair there is a place called Scootaround [www.scootaround.com]. I personally have never rented a wheelchair before or used this specific company, but this place and site may be very helpful to your friends.

Alrighty, have a great day.
