I've read about some contentious family fights over real estate, but nothing tops this quote from The Times' article: “We have people who would like to disinter Mom and Dad and sell the graves back to make some money,” said Richard Fishman, the director of the New York State Division of Cemeteries.

I wonder if we'll soon be seeing a secondary market for grave plots on eBay.

There are very few burials in my city, I've only attended two in my whole life, everything else was cremation. It's actually cheaper to be buried here --- if you can find a plot...
