We're visiting NY City from Australia late September .... We would really like to attend the Yankee vs Boston Red Sox game on Saturday September 26.

Do you know of any bus lines in NY City that run buses specifically to these games?

As we've already booked our accommodation, obviously we're not interested in 'package deals' .... Would really appreciate any help you can give on this one ....

Well, it depends where you are staying in the city. The easiest answer to your question though is basically, take the B or D trains directly to Yankee Stadium.

Depending where you're staying, the B,D, and #4 subway lines all go to the stadium. The trains are crowded but very festive and very safe, as long as you're not wearing a Red Sox jersey.
