My oldish parents are travelling to NY for the first time and will be staying at the Affinia Manhattan. They'll be fairly wrecked by the time they arrive, so I was wondering if there were any good food joints in the area? They are both foodies, so they don't mind paying a bit extra for something decent (as long as it isn't extortionate!).

Also, my dear old mum loves craft/Americana/stitchery - that kind of thing, especially Christmas theme stuff. It may be a bit early in the year for that though? Can anyone suggest any shops as I've scoured the internet but not found anything.
