Comming over from the UK. Is an ice hockey match at madison square gardens suitable family entertainment? any tips?

I never took my kids - I think some of the mayhem on ice would be punishable by jail time for assault & battery if they weren't in uniform!

I live in Avalanche country, and I see family's all the time. I only go when I get free seats, not a cheap sport to cheer on.

The Rangers open the pre-season on sept 20 and the regular season on Oct 5th. It is expensive, but worth it if you are visiting from the UK. Tickets go on sale tommorow, sept 12 on Ticketmaster.com.
