What would surprise a New Yorker?

The stereotype suggests that true new yorkers don't get phased by anything, nothing surprises us. So what in your opinion is something that would spark amazement?

If I ever saw anyone actually working on the subway lines that are shut down on weekends.
If someone actually cared about New Yorks poor.

If the 5 train to Dyre Ave would run more often than every 20 minutes.

If yuppies would stop paying rents the size of mortgages.

If a roller coaster was built on 42nd street & took you east to west.

If people would stop throwing their damn garbage on the streets & start using GARBAGE cans.

If people would STFU on their damn cell phones.
