I know this is last minute, but I am taking a flight tommorow outta JFK. I have only flown out of this airport once, and I am wondering how long it will take to get there by cab during rush hour. I will be leaving straight from my office in midtown and my flight departs from JFK at 6:47pm. What time should I leave in order to allow enough time. I know it can be difficult to get a cab around this time since it is rush hour and I want to allow for any traffic back-ups, etc.

It took me up to 2 hours in rush hour from W26th on more than one occasion, I would allow that plus extra time for security at the airport etc.
