This is a very cook site. O.K Heres my question. Is there a specific amount of cars per train or does it vary. Last time in NYC seemed like 25 cars long. I was amazed.

I think the average is only 8-10.

Most trains are 8 or 10 cars. A few (the G train) can be as short as 4 cars.

I don't think it's possible to run a train longer than 10 cars, because there wouldn't be enough room on the platform.
