We have booked MY for New Year, what is the best way to see the new year in, is it Times Square or should we try for a party somewhere. If we opt for Times Square any tips would be greatly received.

I think you will find that the general consensus of the NYers on this board would be to stay away from Times Square. (I am not a New Yorker, but I have seen enough of the NYE posts.)

If you use to search function, you will find many posts with recommendations on how to enjoy the holiday. It may be getting a little late to make reservations, but it seems lots of people like best to ring in the New Year at a restaurant (most sell tickets including a meal and drinks).

In addition to Laurens post, see what your hotel is doing for NYE. They might be organising an event that you can buy tickets for.
