Actually, Kennedy and Betty, the building that serves as the exterior for the apartment building on "Friends" is located at 90 Bedford Street (the SE corner of Grove & Bedford). Chumley's is at 86 Bedford (just south). The unmarked door is the entrance to Chumley’s, a former speakeasy that still has no outside sign. Yes, I know someone who lives there. But it's just the exterior shot, the rest is shot on a sound stage.

Actually, the apartment isnt even there. They used a random actual building and said that that was the building Friends lived in, but its shot in a studio and its a fake apartment. The building is all wrong, the windows look different the floorplan is different and the placing is different, there is no actual building where they lived. In friends, Ross lives across the street on the patio side of Monicas apartment but on the real building that would be impossible, and there isnt even the same window and patio. The only side that has anything attached like that is the fire escape side. So, sorry but there is no real friends apartment.
