public transportation

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if the Metrocard can be used outside Manhattan?
For example: can I use the Metro card to go from Manhattan to the Jersey Gardens for shopping or do I need to buy a seperate ticket?

Thanks
Arnoud

The metro-card is good in all 5 boroughs of NYC, not just Manhattan, for trains and buses. It can also be used on PATH, a train that goes to New Jersey. Sorry but I don't know where the Jersey Gardens are.
Oracle?

Just to clarify. You can use a pay-per-ride metrocard for PATH, but you cannot use an unlimited-ride card.

Jersey Gardens is in another state (New Jersey), and the metrocard is only good for the New York City transit system.
