We will be flying into JFK this Friday and have a 5 hour layover I am wondering if there will be enough time to visit Ground Zero and what is the best way to get there.

The fastest way into Manhattan is a yellow taxi. It's a flat fare of $45, plus tip and toll = ~$60. Figure an hour each way, depending on traffic.

The World Trade Center site is a construction site. If you have time, I recommend you visit nearby St. Paul's Chapel.

I forgot to tell you; by taxi from ground zero to JFK will cost more than JFK to Manhattan ($60.00). You pay what the meter says.

The $45 flat rate is between JFK and any Manhattan location. That includes the World Trade Center site.

There's an excellent visitor center there..
