Hello New Yorkers,
I travel to New York often, my once a year getaway. I have stayed alone in different places and never have any safety concerns. This next Memorial Day, however, I will be bringing a friend, her 14 yr old grandson and my sixteen yr old niece. Lodging with that many is proving a little expensive in Manhattan (where I would like to lodge with the kids) and was wondering what you all think of Brooklyn Heights? Its close proximity to Manhattan is a plus, and I found some lodging that would accommodate and not break us.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
thank you,
Julie

HI Julie
Brooklyn Heights is a wonderful idea, one of the oldest historic neighborhoods- beautiful homes. And there's the Brooklyn Promenade which is a lovely pedestrian walkway right on the river and one of my favorite restaurants called Jack the Horse Tavern.
Easy subway access A, C or the 2,3 trains
