Ask a New Yorker: What the hell is going on here?
Tina: We are waiting for New Years Eve at Times Square .We’re about 13 hours early but we have a great spot, which is why we’re here.
Ask a New Yorker: Tell me about your spot?
Tina: We are on 7th Ave and 44th street. I believe on this stage behind us Ryan Seacrest will be here and later Dick Clark.
Ask a New Yorker: Have you done this before?
Tina: No, never I’ve always gone home to Michigan for New Years Eve, but this year I’m doing something different.
Ask a New Yorker: No bathrooms and being so packed into Times Square–can’t say it’s something I’d want to do.
Tina: Well, there’s a Starbucks nearby so we’re hoping if we have to buy something we can go to Starbucks. And as for crowds, I’ve done Thanksgiving Days Parade two years in a row. And I live in New York City so I know crowds pretty well. I’ve adjusted. I think I should be fine.
Ask a New Yorker: I take it you’re not a Rangers fan?
Tina: I’m a die hard Red Wings fan. They’re playing a game tonight back home. I wish I could be there. But I guess Times Square is not a bad second option.
Ask a New Yorker: What was your favorite memory in 2009?
Tina: Honestly, that’s its OVER! 2009 was not my favorite year. I’m looking forward to ringing in a new decade.
Ask a New Yorker: Any New Years resolutions?
Tina: I never make them to be honest. I don’t think you should have to make them at the start of the New Year. I think you should just keep up with it all year. So I don’t have a new year’s resolution. Maybe get all A’s next semester, that could be it.
Ask a New Yorker: What are you studying?
Tina: Hospitality and sports management.
Ask a New Yorker: Where did you get the boots?
Tina: Coach
Ask a New Yorker: Scarf?
Tina: My friend made it custom made just for me, one of a kind.
Ask a New Yorker: Are you wearing long underwear?
Tina: No just leggings and an under armour shirt. So that should keep me warm.
Ask a New Yorker: I’m surprised you we’re able to carry a bag inside the fencing.
Tina: Yeah, it just has chips in here and sandwiches and an iPod, nothing dangerous.
Ask a New Yorker: Any jitters about security issues?
Tina: I don’t think so. I think there are 500 extra cops out tonight. So we should all be fine. We’re protected by New York’s finest.
