Ethan Allen (www.ethanallen.com)-maybe a little pricey though.
Ikea
None of these places are in Manhattan, so you're gonna have to travel.

Buhre Ave is fine. Its near Crosby in the Pelham Bay section. That area is mostly private houses, smaller apt. buildings. Streets are pretty clean, crime is pretty low (45th pct.). I live nearby in Morris Park which is bascially the same. The 6 train is nearby, just make sure you get the one to Pelham Bay (there's a Parkchester one too which will leave you some stops away then you have to sw

I would recommend Enwood Personnel
They found me the job I have now & I'm very happy.
I would stay away from Essex Personnel on Broadway in Times Square. I went there once & spent half the day there. Women were dressed for clubs, some brought their kids. Very ghetto in my opinion.
I went to 2 others that I hated too but of course cannot think of their names. One place the

Apparently you've never gone above 96th Street. But yeah I know....Manhattan's only below 96th Street.
I grew up in Inwood. We always called a cab. First there was Miles in the Bronx. They could kill you since they drove like loonies. Then when I was a teenager my friends & I called Seaman & a specific cab. He had an old Caddie limo. We thought we were hot stuff.

I was born & raised here. So were my parents & paternal grandparents (some of us are REAL NYers).
Now, would I let a 7 year old go the store by themselves here? No...but I wouldn't do it if I lived in Scarsdale or Okie Dokieville either. Would I raise my kids here? Not if I can help it....yes the school system isn't great. So I would have to put them into parochial school. I

Bloomberg. Ferrer was Bronx boro pres for 8 years. He SUCKED. He's too much of a push over & wussy. He's too concerned w/the poor, poor, poor. It gets tiring to hear the problems of the poor yet when I go into the poorer areas, I see kids sporting designer clothes not to mention plenty of Escalades & Navigotors.
I feel that w/Ferrer we would go back to the days of Kotch &

I gotta say that its Rory Dolans in Yonkers which borders the VERY Irish Woodlawn section of the Bronx. Always packed & Saturday nights are the BEST!!!
Then again, no one seems to venture past 96th Street...............

<<<The problem is for middle-class students who aren't good students. They pretty much have to go to private or parochial schools. The NYC public school experience rewards parental support and academic initiative. You shouldn't expect much hand holding.>>>
Sorry but I will disagree......I didn't go to parochial school bc I wasn't a good student. I went

You can find an apt in a private house in the Bronx (and yes in good areas, not some shot out area) for 600-900. Again the commute on the train is about an hour, we also have an express bus that costs 5/each way (50 a week, 200 a month).
The issue is that everyone is hell bent on moving into "the city" as they call it (that term drives me up a wall!). You could try Inwood, the very u

The majority of public schools in NYC are horrible. The graduation rate of high school is barely 53%. That's pretty pathetic.
I live in a relatively safe middle class area. A majority of homes are selling for well above 400k but no one sends their kids to public school. Its an Italian area so most send their kids to Catholic schools.
The area is fine, the problem is that kids are buse
