Cupcake Wars!!! - 14 years ago
Ok Everyone, I have a very serious question. Currently I offer all of my couples getting married in New York a Crumbs Cupcake Card, good for 4 cupcakes. Why Crumbs? Location convenience. BUT I have been debating about switching to Magnolia (they have opened a couple new locations) Now I LOVE both for different reasons and would love to see votes on which I should go with. I know there areby lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Small wedding dinner - 14 years ago
There are some restaurants that will have no problem. Some smaller ones... Try Brooklyn, right over the bridge. or They may be able to do a fixed menu. Although it really all depends on the day and whether the location chooses to do this for you. The best thing I can suggest is what many of my couples have done in the past, make a lot of phone calls and do a hell of a lot of internet rby lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Feb 2010 New York Wedding - Help!! - 14 years ago
If I may add something... Of all the weddings I have done, the most amazing bouquets have been made with flowers from bodegas. A lot less expensive too. Just a thought. Let me know if you need any assistance with anything else and also check out elopenewyork.com Cheers!by lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Wedding Make up - 14 years ago
Hi Jeanie, It does depend on your budget. I work with www.catijames.com alot! She is wonderful. You can always go to a makeup counter if you would like. You can even try Sephora,Bloomingdales, Macys. Just give them a call. In my experience I have never received a "discount" off products, but you never know.by lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :

Umbrellas - 14 years ago
I have a rainy wedding coming up on Saturday and need to pick up several "colorful" umbrellas as well as a white one. Does anyone know of a place where I can pick some up. There are a couple shops in midtown, but I am trying to keep the cost to 25.00 and under. Thanks!!!!by lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: looking for a discount place for brand name perfumes - 14 years ago
Just My opinion, but I have learned just to go to bloomies, saks, L and T, Target,Sephora whatever to purchase the item. Trying to get a discount on perfume is like buying a knock off purse in china town. The purse will fall apart and the 'discount" perfume will give you 2nd degree burns.by lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Ask a New York Wedding Photographer - 14 years ago
Last month 2 couples came to the Ask a New Yorker site and asked for help with getting married in NYC. Well, I was lucky enough to spend the day with them. Elisabetta & Omar and Clare & Chris were wonderful. Its funny you only get to spend a day with these couples, but you become so close in that time. If you would like to see a few sneak peak pics, feel free to go to my blog. Cheersby lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: Coney Island - 14 years ago
My most favorite place on earth! Basically you can take the N from 14th street straight to coney island. If you will be near Grand central take the 4 to 14th and transfer. (not sure where you will be located) Its a great place to people watch, have a few coney island lagers at the freak bar and relax. Don't forget to hop on a few rides and play a few games...by lilkim - Ask a New Yorker :
