Re: On Location Tours - 16 years ago
I've never taken their tours (though they look like fun), so unfortunately I can't say. But just a heads up, www.nytix.com offers some discounts on a few of them, like the Sopranos, Sex and the City, and Movie & TV sites tours.by Amstand72 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: NYC WINTER - 16 years ago
It's really tough to say, because we've had some very unseasonably warm weather in the winter months recently, so you're really going to have to check the weather closer to your trip. I always think it's smart to have a good winter coat, and then just layer underneath with long-sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. That way you can strip stuff off if you start getting too warmby Amstand72 - Ask a New Yorker :

Another place you might want to check out if you're willing to use shared bathrooms is the Candy Hostel, which is on West 94th Street. My cousins just stayed there while they were in town, and the rooms are small, but the place is just renovated and very clean. And it's in a lovely neighborhood. Definitely agree with those that suggest Avenue Q. It's humor is more geared to a younger crowd (20 and 30s), but both times I saw it, everybody seemed to be having a fantastic time. But do yourself a favor and don't pay full price. Though Avenue Q is fairly popular, they have discount options. They have discount codes that you can use to get tickets in advance. Re: Place to Stay in NYC that is like an apartment? - 17 years ago
You can always just browse the Sublet section of Craigslist and you're likely to find something that meets your needs. A friend of mine comes into town for a week or so every now and again, and that's what he always does.by Amstand72 - Ask a New Yorker :
