Clubs and Bars - 16 years ago
Hello everybody! I'll be traveling to the city again on february 8th. I'll be staying there for a week and I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions for some nice bars or clubs. We are looking for nice college-like atmoshere since we are in our early 20's. You don't have to be specific, maybe a district or street where most bars are? Thanks in advance!by bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Amazing picture! - 17 years ago
looks more like it's the one in paris when compared to the actual one in paris: Only thing that doesn't add up is the way it faces different ways in the pictures. o well, maybe the photo is just digitally edited or it's just the one in NYby bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
ticket availability - 17 years ago
hey! I'll be spending 5 weeks in the city this summer and I was planning on flying out for a few days during my stay in NY. Can I just go to an airport and buy a ticket on the spot to any big city in the US or do I have to book a ticket in advance? thanks!by bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: MAMMA MIA - 18 years ago
hey! I THINK its best to go to the TICKITS office on times square, I got cheap tickets there for some shows last summer. I'm sure other people have more suggestions.by bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: Holiday studio's - 18 years ago
hey! these are two studio apartments on the same floor: if you want to be more centered this might be nice: I can't tell you how they are because I haven't been to either of them but I'll be staying in the first one in October this year and it seemed like a nice place.by bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: summer job - 18 years ago
he, thanks for the response. one more question though; how will I get a Social Security card? Can I get it when I arrive in the States or do I have to request one at the American embassy here in The Netherlands? I know I could just call the embassy but there closed untill the day after tomorrow and i'm just curious. Thanks!by bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
summer job - 18 years ago
hello! i'll be coming to the city in july and want to find a job. I am an American citizen (American passport), however, I've been living most of my life in The Netherlands. I know I don't need a working visa but is there something else I don't know of that I do need in order to get a job besides my passport? thanks!!by bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: A few q's about NY - 18 years ago
hey, cheapest way from JFK to manhattan I guess is by bus or by airtrain (i believe) taxi will cost you about 60 dollars all in. if you want the cheapest option for getting to Niagra Falls you'll be going there by bus, however, please let me talk you out of this trip. the falls are not spectacular at all and the whole city sucks, really, you don't wanna go there weather is reaby bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :

Re: How much $$ does it take to live in NYC? - 18 years ago
hey man! First of all, congrats on the job. Maybe you're a bit crazy for thinking that you'll find a $1300,- studio below 96th. Maybe roommating is an option for you, even then it would be hard to find a nice room(mate) for that amount of money. I think you should seriously consider living in Brooklyn, it's a really nice place to live (some areas). Good luck on the neby bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: ny to canada (niagara) - 18 years ago
hey, Don't go to the falls, I was there last summer and it sucked! when you want some peace you must go to acadia national park, bar harbor is really nice. The amount of time travelling doesn't differ and it's much nicer. You should google 'acadia national park', believe me; it's real nice. You can go to the beach, go kayakking, nice boat-tours, etc. Unless yoby bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
Re: ny to canada (niagara) - 18 years ago
he man! I did the tour to niagra falls last summer and I believed it was nothing special. However, if you really really wanna go there you can just take the greyhound, it believe it was about a ten hour trip. tip: go to the candian side of the falls, at least it's better then the american side. Because the falls or no big deal you should ask for the 'jetboat ride'. Believe mby bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :

I'd also like to know if it's hard to find a job (any job) inby bartjan19 - Ask a New Yorker :
