I wanted to walk across the george washington bridge, but could not find the footpath.

I forgot to mention I am trying to enter from the Fort Lee Side.

The sidewalk is accessible on the New Jersey side from Hudson Terrace, where a gate open in daytime and evening allows pedestrians and bikes to pass.
