In 1989, the paper became world famous when its office was firebombed, apparently in retaliation for an editorial defending the right to read Salman Rushdie's controversial novel The Satanic Verses. For their courage in continuing to publish without missing an issue, the Steins were given the prestigious First Amendment Award of the Society of Professional Journalist.

I represent a non-profit organization looking for several 2 bd. rm. units to rent at $1,070 per mo. in the Bronx under the Work Advantage Program. The rent is secured and the individuals are qualified, approved and ready to go. Please contact me with any available units.

I look forward to hearing from you.
