Brigabran,

I have no idea what is exactly wrong with the form but this does NOT sound like a fatal defect. In addition to entering your plea, you usually must provide an address, demand (or not) a supporting deposition and sign the ticket. If the ticket is that messed up, I would call the court for help.

Good luck!

Two weeks ago I received a no seat belt (passenger) ticket in Brooklyn. I reside in New Jersey and I would like to pay online although my ticket number does not show up in the system as of 2 weeks. The error I received is the following "WGW1001: Please enter a valid Client ID Number. Be sure to enter all nine (9) digits of the number. Do not include any spaces, letters, punctuation or other special characters." I was given 15 days to respond or pay the fine and all the information on the ticket seems to be correct.

What should I do? What is the best way to proceed?

Blay,

Sometimes it can up to 30 days for a NYC ticket to "hit" the system. While the ticket states that you only have 15 days to answer, you actually have much more time. I would keep checking the system for 7 to 10 more days. If it still doesn't hit, then you'll have to visit a court in person to pay it.

Edrouine,

You should gather any evidence that you can to show your alibi to these two traffic tickets. I would also get a copy of the registration for the car that is alleged to be involved with these two tickets and determine whose car it is. Good luck!

Hi,

I am not a local and hence I do not have a local driver's license and an SSN. I was pulled over recently for speeding 20mph above the speed limit. The officer issued me with a New York State - Department of Motor Vehicles UNIFORM TRAFFIC TICKET.

However, I am very sure the highest speed i hit was only 45mph at most, on the 35mph road. How do I go about dealing with this ticket?

Brigabran,

This issue likely does not render the ticket fatally defective. You should contact the court and discuss how you can enter your not guilty plea to this NY traffic ticket.

Good luck.

Mr. Weiss-

I unfortunately entered an EZPASS lane on the RFK bridge without my NJ EZPASS tag. I was issued a traffic violation 10208 and an envelope for a deferred toll payment request.

NYDMV informed me this was a $130 fine and 2-points. I am a NJ EZPASS holder in good standing. If I plead not-guilty and show my EZPASS record, will the points be dismissed and can I use my EZPASS to pay the RFK toll? Thanks for your services.

Brigabran,

I do not believe that these defects render your speeding ticket fatally defective. You can simply send in a letter via certified mail, rrr, pleading not guilty. That should do the trick.

Good luck!

I received 2 tickets today on the Hutch/Webster, unauthorized vehicle on Parkway, commercial vehicle, van E-350, 18231C. I also received Disobeyed traffic control device. I am from NJ and do not drive on Parkways in NY. I accidentally made the wrong turn and had no choice but to keep going. Cop was not nice but I took it and kept my cool. Believe it or not, I got pulled over by another cop trying to get off Hutch after receiving these 2 tickets. Thankfully he let me go.
Any thoughts on this? Guilty or Not guilty? Can I really fight this in New Rochelle city court?

This issue does not render your speeding ticket fatally defective in my opinion. You can plead not guilty by sending in a letter to that effect via certified mail, rrr.

You should plead not guilty to this NY speeding ticket. If you do, you likely can negotiate this down to a less serious ticket.
