What is the best way to get from mid-town (W. 36th) down to Battery Park area? I looked at the subway maps, but can't tell if I would be better off starting from Penn Station, Grand Central, etc. It would be most helpful if someone could tell me what stations to use and what lines. Thanks.

If you are starting on WEST 36th Street, take the #1 train from 34th and 7th to South Ferry.
