I also have the #640 model horse and carriage clock. My father bought it at a public auction around 1963-64. The clock has been passed down to me since I basically "grew up" with it. It sits on my fireplace mantel and still keeps great time. But like others mentioned, it really needs cleaning. Any suggestions on this or exactly how old it might be?

Hi Jim,
my name is Tanya, and my husband and i have the same clock, it also made loud noises approximately 30-35 yrs ago and they had it repaired in a specialty clock store in rexdale, ontario, canada,, sry no name of the store,my husband was just a lad and his father is now passed. just so you know ours hasn't had an issue since that time. would you have any info on this model eg. age, how many produced? etc. we would truly appreciate any info, very hard to find on the net? thank you and sry i don't have more info for you.
