SATC tour

I'll be in New York next Wednesday for a week, i've seen the SATC tour and my girlfriend would love to go on this tour. The problem is that i couldn't think of anything more dull. So my question are, is the tour suitable for a single lass to be on her own and is the tour any good. Cheers for all your help.

When i looked further into reviews for the Sex in the City tour, they weren't good!

What may impress her more is if you take her for a tour round some of the bars that feature in the series. That way she can ooh and ahh about Carrie doing this here.... and Miranda doing that there... while you have a few beers.

Myself and 3 friends did that a few years ago, if your interested i will dig out details of what we did, where and what was worth it.

I'll take those details if you don't mind

It will save me a few dollars too and we'll get a good drink in too.

Manolo Blahnik West 54th Street - have a look inside the store full of NY women with far toooo much money

Russian Samovar - West 52nd St - Times Square, where Carrie agrees to have a midnight meal with Andre Petrovski, before going on to the art exhibition of the woman sitting on a chair

Slate - West 21st Street. 4th Series, the girls go there to play billiards, really good place for guys, my fella liked this place the most.

We went to O Nieals bar and restaurant (174 Grand Street) - This features a lot as its Steve and Aidens bar in the series, you can go for a drink or we went for food - which was not bad at all. Casual Smart clothes.

Commune 22nd St - nice restaurant although a very limited menu - sat outside for food. Inside the bar was nice, long with bar stools (my fav) This is where the girls had lunch when samantha was doing PR for the 13 year old girls Barmitzvah and the 13yr old paid for their lunch. I think it also featured in kate and Leopold. Now it appears to be Rocco Dispiritos new restaurant - that’s been on TV so may interest her?

Petes Tavern - Speakeasy bar on 18th Street, Pub food and good beer, where Miranda asked Steve to marry her while sitting outside at a table drinking beer form a mug. We went early 4pm in the week, no problems with getting a table, beer good too.

Tortilla Flats - Washington Street - fabulous loud bar dead casual, young clientele good mexican food, pitchers of margaritas. Its where Carrie , Miranda Aiden and Steve went for dinner. Its in the meat packing district which is near to Pastis a Keith Mcnally restaurant.

Pastis 12th St and 9th Avenue, You would need to book Pastis for food, not a place to go for drinks as its always rammed. Pastis is where Carrie meets Andre and they chat with his russian friends, while Carrie cant understand a word and finds out he is going to france for a show.

Florent - 69 Gansvoort (same area as Pastis and Tortilla Flats) - Miranda and Tom (Big boned) from weight watchers class go here. I havent been here yet, but am visiting NY tomorrow so I hope to be going on Sunday. It looks like a nice cheap place to eat and has hosted some rowdy drag queen protests.

Meet - 73 Gansvoort, Where Carrie goes for a blind date and gets stood up. A really nice place for drinks

Staten Island Ferry - Go at Dusk to see the views of the Island - This trip featured in the show where Carrie goes to Staten Island to judge a sexy fireman competition and where she meets her politician boyfriend

Other places that are in the show that I havent been to are:

Tao
Aix
Sushi Samba
21 Club - Loads of films including Woody Allens Manhatten Murder Mystery
Biltmore Room
Bungalow 8
Bull & Bear - Waldorf Astoria - Waldorf also heavily featured in Serendipity
Da Silvano - where our Princess Michael of Kent caused a stink by making racists comments
Lotus
Asia de Cuba
Supper Club
Eleven Madison

I am sure Citysearch can help you out with addresses for these
