lol... ahhhh... The MARTINI!!! .. my FAVORITE!!!!
Try Industry for a great martini menu (it's in the lower east side). Everything from Chocolate to banana martinis! But for actual martinis, it is a cliche, but nice hotel bars really do do it best, especially gin ones. I haven't had a great gin martini at a regular bar yet.
Kitchen on 22nd and Park has decent martinis too.. but their mojitos suck.

245 E. 73rd St. was Carrie's official adress, which does not exist. Five different locations were used to denote the exterior of her building.
(^^^From the SATC Kiss and Tell book.)
If you search, I'm pretty sure that in the past someone has posted an adress of a location used for Carrie's front stoop.

OK, I am going to put an end to this debate. I LIVE in New York City and have gone to "The Stoop" where they filmed Carrie Bradshaw walking out of her apartment.
For all of you that said, it is 245 East 73rd, YOU ARE WRONG!!!! The last building on the 200 block of East 73rd is 241, then you are on 2nd Avenue.
The CORRECT address is 238 East 72nd Street. Once you get there, you KNOW you are in the right place. Yes, they take you there on the "Sex and the City Tour", but for you who do not wish to pay the $35 for the tour, here is your opportunity to visit there yourself.
Also, a little trivia for you. When the "Sex and the City" show used "The Stoop", the show paid $60,000 for everytime Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) would walk up even one of those steps. I guess a small price to pay for such a wonderful show.

$60,000?? That is crazy money!!
I really wanted to go see the street where Carrie lived but when I went to NY about 3 weeks ago I never made it any further than 65th street I don't think! I did go to the Magnolia Bakery though. I saw the cupcake in the show and thought I have to have one!! Although I wasn't dissapointed with the cake, I was a bit shocked to see no table and chairs outside and a 10 minute queue!! The cakes are definitely worth it though!
I also went to Mullberry Street where steve owned his bar - that was a cute little spot in Little Italy. No bar of course!!
And, whilst walking around the Village I saw none other than the Sarah Jessica Parker playing with her little boy in the park at the end of Bleeker. So it's definitely worth a trip down there!
