We are travelling to NY in May and have found an apartment we are thinking of renting for the week.

The apartment is at W 145th St and Malcolm X Blvd.

Is that area safe for tourists? We will probably get in late a few nights that we are there and do not want to get mugged or hassled. I understand that any place can have a dangerous element. But we just wanted to get opinions from people who know the area. We have never been to NY.
