If you are 9 day's in N-Y ( my wife and I ), whats the best deal (the cheapest rate) to travel with the subway?
If you now.... I buy first of all two 7 day unlimited metrocard and than ...what can I do for the rest of my vacantion. individual tickets?

Your best bet is to buy the 7-day unlimited-ride cards (you'll each need your own), and then a pay-as-you-go card, which can be loaded up with almost any denomination. The pay-as-you-go cards can be shared by both of you, you just swipe and then pass the card back to the next person. Free transfers are automatically added and deducted.

If you buy both kinds of cards at the same time, be sure to mark on them which is which, as they all look alike.
