Motorcycle in the City

Any tips for bringing a motorcycle to the city? I've heard people park them on sidewalks; is that not ticketed? I'll be living in Harlem, at 140 & 7th...not sure if different parts of the city.

MCs have to follow the same parking regulations as cars in NYC, so no parking on sidewalks.
