Hi Friends:



Now the sad news. Steve Jobs has "moved on" to greater realms of influence.


An ordinary guy who touched all of us with his incredible tech savvy and genius. He will be missed.
Steve Jobs is the Ford and Rockefeller, the Howard Hughes, Thomas Edison of our generation (w/a bit of Willy Wonka thrown in!). How can we NOT know and pay great homage to this great visionary, genius, and our contemporary?


I've been collecting some interesting articles and below you can read all about Steve Jobs and childhood, what shaped his ideas (he was a 'fruitarian' for a while and his favorite fruit was the apple!), how he met his wife, Laurene Powell, an MBA graduate student in a Stanford classroom in 1990, his legacy and his unconventional (read not Ivy league) journey, including through India, Buddhism and his somewhat Zen monastic lifestyle and beingness, created some of the most amazing products using that "beginners mind" of his. And did you know his biological father, a Syrian immigrant who is a manager at a casino in Reno today, and his American wife, gave Jobs up for adoption right after birth. Lastly, in his own illuminating words to grads at Stanford U commencement address in 2005. (See full speech below.) He spoke of his own "death" as guiding him:


Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
